HISTORY
Debre Yidras Saint George and Kidane Mihret Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church in San Francisco, CA, is founded upon the teachings and doctrine of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church. By the grace of God, it was established on July 19, 2014, with the presence and blessings of Abune Fanuel and the devoted support of the faithful Ethiopian Orthodox community in San Francisco.
MISSION
Our mission is to spread the word of God across all generations and to nurture a spiritually grounded, ethically guided community rooted in the teachings of the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith. The Church is committed to providing holistic spiritual and social services, teaching Christian ethics to children, and passing down the faith to future generations. Through the development of theological knowledge and wisdom, we prepare individuals for both spiritual salvation and a meaningful life in the world.
VISION
The vision of Debre Yidras Saint George and Kidane Mihret Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo Church is to see the Ethiopian Orthodox Tewahedo faith flourish and grow stronger, as followers preserve its sacred beliefs and traditions. We strive to worship God wholeheartedly, seek His divine will, and draw others into a meaningful relationship with Him through the living practice of our faith.
